![]() ![]() and even then-United States President Bill Clinton. Power’s “oldest and dearest friend” eventually invited Ho… er, Max and his family to a garden party that was attended by the likes of Woody Harrelson, Ed Begley, Jr. Burns, and befriended a man by the name of Trent Steel. The phrase he got off of a hair dryer actually opened some impressively powerful doors for the former Simpson as he gained a shocking level of respect from his boss Mr. Yeah, he was really based off the Homer we knowĮmbarrassed about something that really had nothing to do with him, Homer opted to legally change his name to “Max Power” (the only name he spelled right on the list handed to the presiding judge). Sadly for Homer, the character changed into a bumbling fool a week later featuring the catchphrase, “Uh-oh, Spaghetti-Os!” instead of the original character’s statement of, “And that’s the end of that chapter.” ![]() With the people of Springfield too stupid to understand it was just a sheer coincidence, Homer became something of a local celebrity. Well, actually the Homer Simpson we had gotten to know, love and, by this point, start to hate (for being a genuine jerk) wasn’t shown on the television screen being watched by the Simpson family and almost everyone else in Springfield but a stylish, Miami Vice-styled actor who happened to have the same name as Homer. ![]() In a shocking turn of events, Homer Simpson became a television star during Fox network’s annual mid-season. Your Name Makes You No Better or Worst (Episode 13: “Homer to the Max”) Welcome to “The Simpsons Life Lesson” series (season ten – part two). During my time as a “Simpsons” viewer I’ve discovered many relatable life lessons that I plan to share with you. From that moment I laid my eyes on “The Simpsons” I became enamored and, eventually, a life-long fan (more than likely I’ll be re-watching episodes when I’m old enough to shout at clouds). And after being so popular for so many years, perhaps it's time Spider-Man had a saying of his own.(Make sure you read part one) It’s been over twenty years since I can remember the first time I saw Matt Groening’s “crudely drawn” family of five deal with the almost surreal problems that life seemingly presents on a daily basis. Besides the Human Torch, another member of the Fantastic Four has a great catch phrase, that obviously being the Thing's " It's clobberin' time." There are also other sayings associated with other iconic heroes such as Superman's " Truth, justice, and a better tomorrow" as well as Wolverine's " He's the best there is at what he does, and what he does isn't very nice." Probably the closest Spidey gets to that is his signature " friendly neighborhood Spider-Man," but that's more of a nickname than a catchphrase. It's also a bit odd to think Spider-Man has been around for decades and doesn't have a signature phrase. It's cool to imagine an alternate timeline where this catchphrase does take off and Spidey goes around yelling, " Webs away!" before every fight. The Human Torch and Spider-Man are close friends, so it's certainly possible that Spidey has been jealous of Johnny's catchphrase for a long time and has been planning to unveil one of his own. When he finally sees his opportunity to try it out, Joe Fixit, who is known for being a lot more sarcastic than his green counterpart, hilariously responds with just one word: " No." Although this interaction is brief, put into context with the characters involved, it's actually quite hilarious.
